I’m commenting — again — about a piece by Eric Weaver today, so clear a sign that I need to anchor his blog in my roll call.
Anyway… check out Eric’s post and my comment on trends that will likely emerge from “Trusted Marketing.” The bounty hunter email [...]

Chris Perry on Pimping Word-of-Mouth
February 15th, 2006 · 1 Comment
Chris Perry’s passage on Ad Age’s article about BzzAgent as well as his entire post about WOM is simply erroneous. And, as I write this post, I still can’t believe that someone who just attended the Word of Mouth Marketing Association’s Basic Training Conference and who happens to be a Senior Vice President at [...]

If you haven’t already read Eric Weaver’s post on why direct marketing’s push practices suck you may want to take a look. Eric’s a terrific writer and the concepts he beautifully formats in his post from start to finish ring true and resonate.
Eric’s voice was a call-to-arms for Adrant’s Steve Hall. Steve added [...]

New Word-of-Mouth Media Planning or Revamped Affiliate Program

Charlottesville, VA – February 13, 2006
The announcement today by BzzAgent.com that the word-of-mouth firm has morphed their closed community into a media channel for word-of-mouth marketing was not unexpected. The firm had been using the word media in boilerplate descriptions of the company in recent months. A likely framework for the private label [...]

More news last week about WOM agency acquisitions and this time it’s from Isobar, an interactive agency network scooping up Ammo, a word-of-mouth publicity group based in San Fran…
What’s interesting is how Sarah Fay framed the announcement:

“We believe, as do the principals of Ammo, that word-of-mouth marketing will become a fundamental part of [...]
Yahoo Mindset Beta

Interesting search tool from Yahoo that individualizes search results with ratings of either more informational or more commercial. Here’s the official word:
Mindset is an early demonstration of our ongoing machine learning research applied to the problem of web search. We trained an automated text classifier which determines whether any given web page is mostly [...]
