Cow Abductions on the Rise

I’ve been crazy busy but HAD to quickly post a nomination for California Milk Processor Board’s Cow Abduction campaign for best Viral Marketing Campaign of 2006. This is great stuff…and includes a number of media formats and submission options, video integration as well as a viral pass along.

The campaign certainly conveys humor, however, I believe CMPB could upgrade what is already a wonderful framework by connecting the effort to community building and online content distribution activities so that there are longer term ties to individuals that participate in this campaign as well as platforms for individuals to pull in new viewers to thier own sites and to link them to the marketing campaign site. A few other upgrades, include:

1. Including the video in google.video.com and give users the opportunity to embed the video on their site
2. Audio clips of cow abductions would be great for indexing in podcast networks as well as iTunes, and could be a playlist that could serve as a second viral marketing platform.
